0006 - Metal Blobs on Silk Look Basket Weave Texture Fabric

Hand stitched journal sewn on cords with cris-cross detail at the spine. This journal is decorated with found objects in the form of metal blobs from a local galvanized roofing factory. My Grand Son In-Law got them for me. I think they are gorgeous. Love the way this book came out. The fabric is an upholstery fabric, heavy duty, with a silk basket weave woven texture. Eight extra long strings of beads fall from the macrame tassel knotted with natural jute string. Hand made and hand painted beads for added decoration.

COUNTING PAGES:
When I list the number of pages in a book, I am referring to one side of each leaf. For example, in a book with numbered pages, Page 17 would be on one side of the leaf or piece of paper, Page 18 on the other side. Therefore, a book with 224 pages would have 112 leaves.

TECHNICAL DETAILS
This book has 224 pages.
Cover Size: (22.8cm X 23cm) ( 9" x 8 7/8 inches approx.)

0016 - Scroll Saw Cut-out with Metallic Look Journal

More lovely hand made journals in my Etsy Shop

The front cover of this journal was cut with a scroll saw and then strongly attached to the main cover. Painted to look like weathered copper which gives it a rustic but metallic look. The 11 strings of beads are strung with rolled paper beads, plastic pony beads, metallic copper beads, black tubular beads and black round wood beads. The beads add romance to the journal and have a lovely feel in your hands. Lovely to play with.

Navy spotted denim look baked tube beads.

Navy patterned denim look baked tube beads. Some parts of the patterns of the beads look like denim. These are left over from a gift project I did a couple of days ago. I forgot to take a picture of the finished necklace, but it did look very pretty. I mixed these beads with black pony beads and smaller round gold beads. I am not sure what they are called.

Candle Light Jewels Baked Tubular Beads

I call these "Candle Light Jewels" because they look like jewels that are glowing through a dim light or candle light. Mostly dark with subtle colors showing through in different shades of red, orange and dark blue & green.

African Dangles - 001 - Green
Hang them on you shoes. Left side or right! No need to unlace your shoes to attach them, just string them directly through the lace just before you tie the bow.
Dangle them around your neck on a leather necklace strap or cord. Attach them to your bunch of keys and play with the beads when you are bored. These fun and rustic looking beaded tassel things will brighten up your joggers, a plain or boring blouse, or make it easier for you to find your keys.
Handmade with (again) handmade beads, and handmade filler beads strung on authentic jute twine. One only!

What would you call these?

I made a couple of these for my granddaughter and I am thinking of making some for Etsy. They are to hang on laced up shoes, or hang on your key ring, or hang around your neck on a ribbon or cord like a necklace. Made with handmade tubular beads mixed with black spacer beads. Can you think of a cute name for them ? If you have some suggestions please add a comment or answer me on Twitter.
