Dark leaf green fiber bead sticks. Make your own Christmas gifts.
This batch of bead sticks are a solid shade of dark leaf green. These are fiber beads and you can cut the six inch bead sticks to any length you want. A sharp razor blade is all that is needed to cut these lovely beads. Use a safety blade as shown in the graphic ... these are available from any hardware store.
I have used them to make lovely necklaces mixed with larger round beads and they look gorgeous. I also use them on most of my handmade journals, my rag dolls and have had wonderful feedback from those who have bought them from me on ArtFire.
Bee Sting AND A PENNY
here again...
It might be wise to carry a penny in your pocket while working
in the yard......... BEE STINGS !
A couple of weeks ago, I was stung by a bee while working in the garden.
My arm swelled up, so I went to the doctor. The clinic gave me cream and an
antihistamine. The next day the swelling was getting progressively worse, so
I went to my regular doctor. The arm was Infected and needed an
antibiotic. The doctor told me - ' The next time you get stung, put a penny
on the bite for 15 minutes'.
That night, my niece was stung. I looked at the bite and it had already
started to swell. So, I taped a penny to her arm for 15 minutes. The next
morning, there was no sign of a bite. We decided that she just wasn't
allergic to the sting.
Soon, I was gardening outside. I got stung again,
by a hornet on my left hand. I thought, here I go again to the
doctor for another antibiotic.
I promptly got my money out and taped a penny to my bite then sat
and sulked for 15 minutes. The penny took the string out of the bite
immediately.
No redness, no swelling.
Wanted to share this marvelous information in case you experience the same
problem. We need to keep a stock of pennies on hand .
The doctor said that the copper in the penny counteracts the bite. It
definitely works!
Please remember and pass this information on to your friends, children,
grandchildren, etc.

100 Rag Dolls promised ... 95 made, 5 to go! Wish me luck!
Well! It has been six days since and so far I have 95 dolls completed. (Hard going ... needless to say I have done hardly anything else this week!) The bad news is I have run out of sticks for my hot glue gun which I use to attach the hair. I guess I could sew them on, but I don't really want to. ... So now I must go shopping which takes a round trip of almost two hours on the bus. Thankfully, I only need to complete another 5 dolls to make good on my promise. Umbrella in hand, I hope it does not rain too much while I am out shopping ... there are clouds looming overhead!
In a couple of weeks, we get to visit the warehouse where they check each box that was donated ... that's where the "fillers" come in. If there is any space in the box, and since we don't like paying to ship air, something age appropriate is put in to fill the gap.
Adorable little hand painted craft faces for your cards and other crafts.
