Do you have trouble stacking your ice cube trays? The trick is to buy two completely different types so that the holes do not line up with each other. Then alternate the trays one on top the other.
In an embergency, if you only have matching trays, stack them each at a slightly different angle ... similar to the photo so they don't sit in each other.
